Blair sets a bad example for weak minded Catholics

Tony Blair, former U.K. prime minister, has teamed up with one of Canada’s most well-known pro-abortion politicians, Belinda Stronach, in a combined effort to promote the U.N’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Despite Blair’s purported conversion to Catholicism after stepping down as PM, to date he has not renounced any of his anti-life views, leading to concerns that his work in promoting the MDG’s still retains the pro-abortion stamp. These concerns appear to have been confirmed in a strong way by his choice to team up with Stronach, an unlikely candidate for a “faith” initiative due to her anti-life, anti-family and anti-religious views.

I suspect that Tony Blair joined the Catholic Church to provide an anti witness to the world that says “it is ok to be Catholic and support the death of children through abortion.” This is not ok, Catholics must never support abortion.

Blair sets a bad example for Catholics who may be weak minded.

Wow, that's amazing. I confess I don't know much about the abortion debate, though I am pro-life and I do hope to educate myself so as to be able to participate in this discussion. But it's amazing the lengths people will go in order to proclaim their beliefs to a greater audience (and a difficult-to-sway audience - "it's okay to be Catholic and pro-choice" - oh my).

It's not about religion, people! It's about these darling little human beings who are being tossed aside as dross and about the countless infertile couples who would LOVE to raise that discarded baby. It's about God's children being sacrificed to selfish panic after the wanton fulfillment of selfish desire.

Whew, who knew I had such a mouthful in there? :)
