Most Holy Redeemer Church vandalized

Most Holy Redeemer Church over in the Castro was vandalized last night. The vandals spray-painted "Ratzinger, Niederauer, Where is the love?"

The strange thing is, many of the parishioners actually support "homosexual unions."
Read more about at "A Shepherd's Voice" which includes photos with a commentary on this heretical parish.

The actions of these "gays gone wild" speak volumes about their character. Aside from the utter immaturity and lack of decency defacing a church shows, the fact that they didn’t know that that parish was actually on their side is the only humorous thing about this.
Good post, Secular Heretic. Keep up the good work!

There has been a lot of violence reported in the media lately from groups like these.

I also appreciated the commentary from "A Shepherd's Voice". Nice to see Catholics out there who haven't sold out on traditional marriage.

Yes "A Shephers's Voice gave us some very interesting background information.

Question if you know: I know the Catholic church does not take a stand on the sexual orientation of priests, saying that the issue is celebacy, not gay or straight. How many homosexual priests are there? Any info on that? And, is the priest at this parish gay himself?

You've asked some excellent questions MD Views.

The church says in Instruction Concerning the Criteria for the Discernment of Vocations with regard to Persons with Homosexual Tendencies in view of their Admission to the Seminary and to Holy Orders.."while profoundly respecting the persons in question, cannot admit to the seminary or to holy orders those who practise homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called "gay culture"."

In the past I suspect it was never considered an issue so they never issued any statements regarding the ordination of men who have a same sex attraction.

How may "gay priests"? I don't know. I suspect many are either in gaol or have left the priesthood. You could ask that question at. Catholic Answers Forums

There certainly is something strange going on at the Most Holy Redeemer parish. If you follow the link "A Shepherds Voice" you can read about the parish. My understanding is that the parish priest is gay but I don't think it explicitly says that in the article.
