Stephen Carruthers and John Bates, two homosexual predatory pedophile lovers who abused young boys at their flat, were jailed today.

Two homosexual predatory pedophile lovers who abused young boys at their flat were jailed indefinitely today. Stephen Carruthers, 49, and John Bates, 45, began their relationship in prison while serving lengthy sentences for similar sex offences.

The pair, who both have a string of pedophile convictions dating back to the early 1980s, met in Strangeways prison in Manchester and then went on to live in Blackpool, Lancashire. They used enticements of money and boasts of celebrity connections to lure four 14-year-olds to their ground floor flat in Caunce Street in the resort.

Sentencing the pair to indeterminate sentences, Judge Christopher Cornwall said: 'You simply cannot resist the temptation of making contact with boys with the purpose of abusing them for your own sexual gratification. 'The harm that you have caused to each of those boys is hard to calculate. What they all have in common is that you were intent on exploiting them and their innocence.

Carruthers was ordered to serve a minimum of five-and-half years in jail before he can be considered for parole after he was convicted of three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, grooming and child abduction.

Carruthers told the court: 'My partner and I have been in a relationship for 10 years and in that 10 years together at no time have we got together to plan to abuse any children.' Both denied all the charges against them but were convicted by a jury at their trial in December.

The prosecutors said the pair's victims were lulled into a false sense of security as they were groomed in a 'deliberate and expert fashion'. Two of the boys met Carruthers as he asked them to look after his dogs while he popped into a shop to buy cigarettes. He was soon offering them small amounts of money to carry out odd jobs in his flat before suggesting he could give them 'a million pound each' to satisfy his desires.

One of the victims had learning difficulties which Carruthers exploited to confuse the boy. In victim impact statements read to the court, one mother said she had 'gone through hell' and that her son was still terrified that the pair would escape from prison. Another mother said her son had talked of committing suicide and was constantly being teased at school after he told classmates about his ordeal.

There is evidence that people who do have a same sex attraction like Stephen Carruthers and John Bates are more likely to commit violent crimes. Narth

In Australia, lesbian lovers Jessica Stasinowsky, 21 and 19-year-old Valerie Parashumti were jailed for the willful murder of 16-year-old Stacey Mitchell. Stacey took half an hour to die after being bludgeoned with a concrete block and strangled with a chain in December 2006 because she had been "annoying". They kissed over the teenager's body before dumping it in a wheelie bin. Lesbian Killer

It is time we reconsidered the common assumption by some that homosexuality is an “acceptable life style choice”.

Maybe if they were allowed to "marry" and adopt children, then they could keep it all in the family.

*Shudder*

In all fairness you should post articles about the hundreds and hundreds of heterosexual men that rape and kill little girls. Or are you afraid to report the truth.

The truth can be scary at times but we all need to face it in order to be honest with ourselves. Even if it hurts.

I could write about men raping girls but my point is, is that violent crime seems to be disproportional hight with same sex attracted people. The heterosexual population is massive compared to the homosexual population, you would expect a larger number of offences. The homosexual population is very small compared to the heterosexual population and yet they are well represented with regard to violence.

Disturbing article, thank you for sharing.
I pray these 2 men won't be released from jail & that they find God.
Thank you for posting, you're articles always report the truth:)

Yes it is important that they repent and try to lead good lives.

Because of persecution there is no way to tell just how big the Gay community is. There are many Gay people who remain hidden. While abuse is violent how many cases compared to heterosexual rape end in death. Not many!
Also by your logic of statistics Blacks in America have a greater propensity for violence than whites. Just look at the prison system. One must be careful not to paint an entire community with one brush.

According to the research around 3% of people claim to have a same sex attraction Link while gay groups claim it is as high as 10%.

The conclusion arrived at by the researchers, based upon these figures, is that the rate of abuse between urban homosexual men in intimate relationships "is a very serious public health problem."Link

This type of research does not deal with individuals, it is about large groups of people and the type of choices they might make. It seems that homosexual men in intimate relationships have a high rate of abuse.

This is total assumption on your part with no real evidence to back it up. The link you provide it to an organization called NARTH which tries to convert Gay people into being straight. Try linking to a none conservative site that states the facts and not made up statistics. The last time I checked there are thousands of shelters for women trying to escape the abuse of a husband or boy friend. There are none for Gay Men.

This is just one of hundreds of articles that debunk NARTH and conversion therapy. You can Google information on people who have left NARTH because of their practices and also people who have tried the therapy and failed. The rate of success is between 0 and .01 percent. Even the success stories still tell of same sex attraction and the constant battle to try and acting on it.

Thanks anonymous for commenting.

The original research paper was actually published in "American Journal of Public Health". I should have linked directly to it. I don't know if you would classify this group as "conservative" but I don't think it matters.
Five professors approved the article.Gregory L. Greenwood, PhD, MPH, Michael V. Relf, PhD, RN, Bu Huang, PhD, Lance M. Pollack, PhD, Jesse A. Canchola, MS and Joseph A. Catania, PhD.

Not only are experts recognizing the problem of violence with homosexual relations but the gay community as well.
A group called “ReVisioning” has been created to address abuse amongst gay men.

Thanks for the link but again it goes directly back to NARTH. ReVisioning Quotes so call experts who all work for NARTH who's practices are widely criticized by the American Journal of Public Health. As well as the American Journal of psychology.

Sorry I should have read my reply before posting it. The researchers do not work for NARTH and the information they supplied sounds like it is true. My point was that NARTH has a habit of twisting words. This is a quote form their site
"The conclusion arrived at by the researchers, based upon these figures, is that the rate of abuse between urban homosexual men in intimate relationships "is a very serious public health problem."
I read the study and no where in the article does it say that their conclusion was a very serious problem. The study was formed to help gay and lesbian people get the help needed to protect them from abusive relationship which by the way happen in all lifestyles.
Also this Quote "It is good that people involved in the gay lifestyle are starting to admit that there is a problem with same sex relationships. Researchers have known for a while now that homosexual men in intimate relationships have a disproportionate high rate of abuse between them. I suspect that the violence experienced by these men is a consequence of living a lifestyle which contradicts human nature. Instead of affirming their human nature they are degrading it through their actions, which results in anger, disorder and violence."
Is not from Trish Thompson. Vac/GMHC said they did not know where this came from but it was not from them.

From the "American Journal of Public Health", under the "abstract" heading it says...
Conclusions. Rates of battering victimization among urban MSM are substantially higher than among heterosexual men and possibly heterosexual women. Public health efforts directed toward addressing intimate partner battering among these men are needed.

The NARTH article down the bottom says..
The conclusion arrived at by the researchers, based upon these figures, is that the rate of abuse between urban homosexual men in intimate relationships "is a very serious public health problem."

Both conclusions are worded in a very similar way and mean basically the same thing.

Trish Thompson of VAC/GMHC never did say
I suspect that the violence experienced by these men is a consequence of living a lifestyle which contradicts human nature. Instead of affirming their human nature they are degrading it through their actions, which results in anger, disorder and violence.
I said it.
