THE head of the Australian Medical Association Dr Andrew Pesc has said single women and gay couples should not have access to IVF

"Fertility treatment is there to treat diseases that cause infertility, it shouldn't be there as a lifestyle choice. For example, single women (who choose IVF) don't have a disease, they just don't have a partner. Same-sex couples, they don't have disease but they are using an option that gets around the natural order of things," Dr Pesce said.

If we do allow single women and gay couples to manufacture children, then we are condemning the children to a fatherless existence. Current research indicates that children do best in society when raised by their own biological mother and father.

Dr Pesce later contacted the Sunday Herald Sun and said his comments were "clumsy" and a mistake. Gay and Lesbian Lobby Group convenor Emily Gray called for Dr Pesce to resign immediately. I guess Dr Pesce fears that he might lose his job if he doesn't go along with the whole "gay is ok" agenda.

Ms Gray went on to say...

"He shouldn't be holding a position of responsibility if he's going to discriminate against (same-sex couples') entitlement to the same medical treatment as everyone else."

Not all discrimination is bad Ms Gray. We discriminate against paedophiles from being in contact with children. What about the fact that a child from a same sex couple relationship will be either fatherless of motherless? Isn't that a form of discrimination?,21985,25867920-661,00.html
